About Melanie
Solutions-focused fertility counselor, trainer and public speaker specializing in the field of assisted reproduction
Melanie is a clinical social worker with over 20 years of training and clinical counseling experience. She is the owner of Hold Hope, LLC which provides education, advocacy and private practice counseling services for fertility, third-party reproduction, and donor conceived individuals. She spent the past 10 years working as a mental health professional with Seattle Reproductive Medicine.
Outside of her clinical practice Melanie serves on the American Society of Reproductive Medicine Executive Committee of the Mental Health Professionals Group (ASRM MHPG). She was part of the task force that help create current guidelines for gestational carriers, intended parents and gamete donation. She has chaired numerous other ASRM MHPG committees and serve as a mentor training professionals new to the field.
Melanie is an active member of RESOLVE, The Australian and New Zealand Infertility Counsellors Association (ANZICA), the National Infertility Association, The Society for Ethics in Egg Donation and Surrogacy (SEEDS), and The National Association of Social Workers (NASW). She has given numerous professional talks, appeared in podcasts, and is certified in tele mental health.

Values
As a North Carolina native, Melanie has called the Pacific Northwest home for over 33 years. She has adult twin daughters born via IVF and a beloved dog named Poppy. She feels working in the field of infertility is a career that chose her after her own personal experiences. In her spare time, you will find Melanie near a lake, ocean or mountain enjoying hiking, skiing or reading biographies and true crime novels.
